A blank form for each intake will be circulated to the Practice Educators in Critical Care. Applications are to be submitted to the Skills Institute by the local Practice Educator in Critical Care and must be signed by the applicant, the educator, and the unit manager. Those outside of Greater Manchester who are interested in applying may approach the Skills Institute directly to discuss the feasibility of undertaking the Programme

Applications

The next intake will be February 2025 cohort. Application deadline is Friday 11th October 2024, eligible applicants will be invited to an online pre-course enrolment session. The course starts with formal Induction on 22nd January 2025, with contributions from our colleagues at Manchester Met. Students must be available for enrolment and induction, for the study days, and also for key dates given on the application form (induction, submission dates)

MMU Induction

Induction on to both modules is mandatory. Induction for February 2025 cohort will take place online on 22nd January 2025. Students will be sent an invite in advance with a link to join the session. This is a full day with a start time of 9.00am

Applicants who fail to attend the mandatory induction will have to defer their place on the course

Competency Element

All students must have an approved named mentor within their own area to support them through the competency process. Competency assessment should be taking place and recorded in the document as the student progresses through the course. A list of local approved mentors is available from your Practice Educator

Students are responsible for the safe-keeping of their competency document. A charge will be made for replacing lost / damaged documents

Academic Element

All students are expected to engage in the formative work set to support them in the academic element of the course. Each student will be allocated an Academic Adviser on Induction to support them through the course
